Normally ASTM A537CL2 plates are normally supplied in the as-rolled condition. The plates may be ordered normalized or stress relieved, or both.
ASTM A537CL2 steel plates shall be normalized. A537CL2 and SA537Cl3 plates shall be quenched and tempered. The tempering temperature for Cl2 plates shall not be less than 1100°F [595°C] for not less than 1⁄2 h and 1150°F [620°C] for Class 3 plates for not less than 1⁄2 h.
